Statement: NOT YET LEGAL

Not yet legal is what many of us say, making references to the laws
that hamper us from having a significant impact on our society. Being
a young artist really is about showing our interpretation of the
world through our eyes and the feelings this brings out in us. Put
our age aside and open up your mind to when you were young. Not yet
Legal is an interpretation of the world through the eyes of a younger
generation. We’ve taken this opportunity to express our thoughts
that are not always heard or taken seriously. Since we are the future
of society, our opinions and criticisms on the world will have a huge
impact on what the world we live in will become.

The artists of this show are a young collection of students from the
11th grade visual art program from a local high school, & a student
from the University of Ottawa. These are the artists that I am
surrounded by and who have inspired me as I grew to be my own person
and artist. Over the years I couldn’t help but notice our strong
opinions regarding our surroundings. This exposition will allow us to
expose our art and opinions to a greater audience. This will help
adults see how we are not young delinquents, but are rather trying to
abolish corruption and stereotypes in hopes of a better future. -
