Khaela Maricich +
Melissa Dyne
Thursday, February 3, 2011, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
Henry Auditorium
Henry Members & Students $8 | General Admission $10 All Ages
Performance artist and pop musician Khaela Maricich (who performs as The Blow) and installation and conceptual artist Melissa Dyne present a lecture about their current collaboration; a music based performance piece, which they are presenting in a diversity of contexts, from rock clubs to museums, in an exploration of the possibilities and assumptions inherent in each setting. They will demonstrate, among other things, their experience brushing against the invisible boundary lines of convention, the strangeness of the creation of a pop icon, and the intricacies of the collaborative process. Maricich and Dyne will also be performing on Feb 4th at The Crocodile.
