RELEASED TODAY: Americas Quarterly, Winter 2011 Issue - Free Trade and Market Access
With President Barack Obama’s focus on trade and Latin America in his State of the Union address, we are particularly pleased to announce the release of the Winter 2011 issue of Americas Quarterly on market access and the hemisphere’s prospects for free trade. In it, AQ explores the hurdles and opportunities for producers and workers as they seek a greater stake in the global economy.
U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk and Canadian Minister of International Trade Peter Van Loan discuss how the hemisphere can move forward with trade liberalization, while original AQ research shows the correlation, or lack of it, between U.S. congressional support for free-trade agreements and states’ export benefits, and the ramification for the Panama and Colombia free-trade agreements.
Access content from this issue at AQ’s redesigned website, as well as the latest blog posts and web-exclusive articles from our 21 contributors across the Americas.
