BARTLESVILLE, OK – Price Tower Arts Center hosts its

Barnes Ignoble Quartet. The evening will begin with a member only preview
reception from 5 o’clock until 5:30 p.m. The free public reception
will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7
p.m.
“Friday will be a great opportunity to see our new exhibition.
Bruce Goff: A Creative Mind is an impressive collection of
Goff’s artwork, designs and models of unrealized works or structures that
have been destroyed,” said Debra Woodall, marketing manager for Price
Tower Arts
Center.
The exhibition is a collaborative effort involving Price Tower Arts Center,
the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art and the Colleges of Architecture and
Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. Goff’s original drawings
are the primary resource for the exhibition which is brought to life utilizing
3-D construction models and cinematic photorealistic computer animation.
Previously, the objects were only seen in developmental stages, renderings or
historic
photographs.
“This is a special exhibition for Price Tower Arts Center. Bruce
Goff was an important person in the construction of the Price Tower. He
was the one who introduced Mr. Price and Frank Lloyd Wright. After Goff
retired from the University of Oklahoma, he set up his architectural practice in
Apartment 4 of the Price Tower. He worked for eight years on the 9th and
10th floors. During that time, he saw 11 projects realized,” said
Scott Perkins, curator for Price Tower Arts
Center.
Visitors on Friday evening will also enjoy music ranging from classical to
jazz.
"The Barnes Ignoble Quartet is led by Bartlesville High School graduate
Robert Barnes on piano and features his father, Warren Barnes, on saxophone,
Spencer Wilson on guitar and Richard Johnson on bass,” said Darbi Kinkaid,
event coordinator for Price Tower Arts Center.
Sponsors for Bruce Goff: A Creative Mind include ConocoPhillips,
the National Endowment for the Arts, the Oklahoma Arts Council and Furthermore:
a program of the J.M. Kaplan Fund. The evening will feature free
admission to the gallery, free appetizers and a cash bar. More information
