Continua presso la Blindarte contemporanea la terza personale in galleria di Davide Cantoni dal titolo 111. 

Nei nuovi spazi della Blindarte contemporanea l'artista espone in anteprima l'imponente lavoro 111 anni. L'opera, che da il titolo alla mostra, è composta da 111 disegni bruciati in cui il mondo viene rappresentato anno dopo anno evidenziando con le bruciature i paesi che di volta in volta sono coinvolti in guerre. In mostra anche nuovi disegni bruciati eseguiti con la lente di ingrandimento e la luce solare, nuovi acrilici ad interferenza su tela visibili solo se illuminati ed osservati da una determinata angolazione. E' inoltre presentato il nuovo video Flag, composto da disegni bruciati montati in sequenza nel quale la bandiera americana ondeggia nell'aria bruciando e ricomponendosi.

In concomitanza con questa mostra, la Blindarte contemporanea ha pubblicato la prima monografia d'artsta. Il volume di 120 pagine dal titolo "111" è  pubblicato in doppia lingua italiano/inglese, ed è un progetto grafico di Hana Anouk Nakamura per Mucca Design (New York), realizzato con il diretto ed intenso coinvolgimento dello stesso Davide Cantoni, include un testo del critico e curatore internazionale Lòrànd Hegyi ed un intervista all'artista di David Coggins.

Il progetto "111 anni" rappresenta una nuova cartografia della sofferenza umana, nella quale i vari conflitti militari, le guerre, le aggressioni, gli atti terroristici e le violenze delle guerre civili vengono sistematicamente enumerati e strutturati lavorando la carta con svariati metodi e rappresentando in forma grafica le scene di violenza. L'aspetto obiettivo e la pretesa quasi storica ed enciclopedica di visualizzare in modo trasparente, conseguente ed esaustivo gli eventi della storia umana provocano una sorta di sistematizzazione visuale, nella quale le connotazioni e le allusioni alle singole storie vere degli individui mantengono l'energia poetica prodotta dal sapersi concentrare sulla manifestazione silenziosa, schiva e concreta della sofferenza umana. Questo sistema visuale, una cartografia sistematizzata e rigidamente strutturata, preserva sempre e senza limitazioni l'energia emozionale data dall'immediatezza dell'immagine, provocando in questo modo una risposta empatica.

La coraggiosa radicalità della posizione artistica di Davide Cantoni, sorprendente e quasi inaspettata, sta proprio nell'occupare senza compromessi questa posizione estrema, nella quale egli presenta l'irrevocabile fragilità ontologica della nostra vita come un dato di fatto oggettivo e inevitabile.  Paradossalmente proprio questa calma oggettiva, l'indiscutibile irrevocabilità dell'essere fragili e feriti quale condizione universale ed eterna delle cose, provoca infine una resistenza etica contro l'apatia nascosta e occultata dietro la facciata di 
un determinismo fatalista.

The third exhibition with Davide Cantoni continues at Blindarte contemporanea .

Giving the title to the show is the new large work "111" composed of 111 burned drawings of the world, showing year by year from 1900 to 2010 all the countries where wars are taking place.  New paintings, made with Cantoni's signature interference paints which appear only when viewed from from the correct angle, will be on view as well as new large drawings burned with sunlight through a magnifying lens. The new video "Flag" will be shown for the first time, in which the US flag blows in the wind as it smolders and recomposes.

On the occasion of the exhibition Blindarte Contemporanea published its first artist monograph. The volume of 120 pages titled "111" is published with English and Italian texts. Designed by Hana Anouk Nakamura for Mucca Design with direct and intense involvement by the artist, the monograph includes a text by the international critic Lorand Hegyi and an interview of the artist by David Coggins.

The project 111 Years represents a new cartography of human suffering whereby the various armed conflicts, aggressions, terrorist attacks and atrocities of civil wars are being systematically counted and structured through different ways of working on paper or by way of graphic representation of the scenes of violence. The seeming objectivity, the quasi-historical encyclopedic claim to present a concise, consistent and transparent reading of world-historical events creates a sort of visual systemization but hints at the true, single stories of individuals, thereby maintaining the poetic impact that derives from concentrating upon the quiet, restrained, material revelation of human suffering which is always at the center of the work. This visual system, a methodically and rigorously structured cartography retains at all times the full emotional impact of the whole picture, in this way provoking an empathic response. 

The courageous and unexpectedly radical nature of Davide Cantoni's artistic position, consists of the uncompromising extremity with which he represents the binding ontological fragility of our life as an unavoidable, objective fact. Paradoxically it is just this objective calm, this indisputable irrevocability of being wounded and of fragility as a universal and eternal state of things, which ultimately provokes an ethical resistance against the concealed apathy hidden behind fatalistic determinism.
