On January 21, 2011, in 20 mph winds with a wind chill of -3°F, Brian
Rushton Phillips and Jeff Lambert set out onto a frozen Lake Simcoe,
Ontario, to install, document and animate, Rushton Phillips' A Conceptual
Representation of Irrationalism Through Religious Anxiety.

The outcome is a haunting look at the fear and ignorance behind Christianity
and the enlightenment and truth that can be found within rationality.

Rushton Phillips is the conceptual partnership of contemporary visual
artists, Sheralyn Rushton Phillips and Brian Rushton Phillips, whose work
ranges from graphic illustrations and photographs, to mixed media and
sculptural interpretations of the 21st century cultural landscape. Through
processes of dissection, reconstruction, juxtaposition, re-branding and
satire, the collaborators alter our milieu through a critical and redefined
palette of iconography. Their projects are metaphors for the social dilemmas
facing our existence and predominantly involve the documentation and
analysis of celebrity, economics, politics and religion.
