Although Camille Pissarro and his descendants remain Stern Pissarro Gallery's main focus, our larger premises in St. James's continues to enable us to widen the scope of our exhibitions,
The forthcoming exhibition of Impressionist & Modern Art, which runs from 4th-24th February, covers the period from the 1870s to the 1950s. Highlights of the exhibitions include paintings by Alfred Sisley from 1877 and 1896 and a full size portrait by Berthe Morisot of her daughter Julie Manet painted in 1884 (Berthe Morisot was married to Edouard Manet's brother, Eugène). together with a number of oil paintings by Camille Pissarro including one of his first views of the village of Eragny to where he had just moved in 1884. Post-Impressionist artists Armand Guillaumin, Pierre Bonnard, Maurice de Vlaminck and Georges d'Espagnat also feature, as well as Moise Kisling, Léopold Survage and Bernard Buffet and 1950s abstract artists Jean Dubuffet André Lanskoy and Serge Charchoune. to view online catalogue
