Save the date: Wed, May 4, 7pm We are pleased to announce that Louis Corrigan, founder of Flux Projects and Possible Futures, is the recipient of this year's Nexus Award. The Nexus Award honors individuals who have made a profound contribution to contemporary visual art in Atlanta and beyond. The decision to honor Corrigan in 2011 was unanimous. He epitomizes the Nexus Award criteria in his dedication to raising the bar in Atlanta's creative community. This year in particular, through Flux Projects, Possible Futures, and his service on numerous boards, Corrigan has become a significant patron and promoter. He has made ambitious art projects possible and helped to facilitate artists and students becoming members at local arts institutions (ACAC was one of the beneficiaries of this grant). He is also a tireless fixture on the Atlanta scene, organizing meet-and-greet gatherings and attending countless openings, lectures and events at traditional venues and alternative locations. Lecture & Book Launch: Morris Lapidus: An Architecture of Joy Wed, Feb 9, 6-8 pm, Free Location: SWITCH, 1193 Howell Mill Rd, Atlanta 30318 Author Deborah Desilets discusses her new monograph on the celebrated architect Morris Lapidus, who created sweeping curves, woggles, cheese holes, and staircases in his iconic designs of the Fontainebleau and the Eden Roc hotels in Miami Beach. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Performance: Dance Truck Fri, Feb 11, 7-9 pm, Free Atlanta's own Dance Truck backs up a vehicle filled with choreographers and dancers for an evening of movement and dance magic. Artists include DE, Corian Ellisor, Lori Teague, and Onur Topal-Sumer.

The Extremity Experiment Sat, Feb 12, 6-9 pm Join The Extremity Experiment for an intimate evening of expression. Artists, poets, singers and musicians will be featured to share their love of the arts along with entrepreneurs looking to promote their businesses. Whether you want to grab the mic or sit back and enjoy the sights, this evening is guaranteed to ignite the senses. $6 Donation benefits ACAC and another local charity. Curator Talk: Stuart Horodner Thu, Feb 17, 6:30-7:30 pm, Free Artistic Director Stuart Horodner leads a tour and discussion of the current exhibitions. Free Thursdays are sponsored by Perennial Properties.
