Art Rotterdam 2011 Today, February 10th, is the kick off for Art Rotterdam, the international art fair of The Netherlands. With Rotterdam being the creative capital of Holland there is an overflow of exhibitions and alternative art fairs happening next week, during Art Rotterdam. Featured Member – Ripo Ripo has been with the NNE network from the start. Recently, Ripo opened Don’t Get Me Wrong; his first solo show in his adopted hometown Barcelona. Most Read Feature Dutch artist Katinka Simonse, a.k.a. Tinkebell, has prompted quite a dispute in the Dutch media with her last exhibition Save the Pets. Scorned animal rights filed suit accusing her of torturing hamsters and the media discussed the century old question of “Is this Art?”. While all that Tinkebell really wanted was an open discussion about the commodification of pets. Read here what happened.
