Police and Thieves Begins
An age old battle rages in new Gallery 4 exhibition

Contemporary artists shed new light on an age-old struggle in Police and Thieves, an exhibition beginning here at the Art Center on Sunday, February 13.

If you've been on the receiving end of those flashing lights, then you know the struggle. Artists from Chicago and Los Angeles confront the clash between cops and criminals. The exhibition raises questions about power, control, and freedom. They boldly explore the relationship between the two groups in ways that will spark you interest, sympathy, and sense of humor. The exhibition is curated by artists Karla Davis and Mario Ybarra, Jr. Each brings their experience and expertise in dealing with issues of social inequity to the fore, composing an exhibition that tests the creative the boundaries of those who test the boundaries of society.

The official opening reception for this, and other exhibitions will be held March 20 from 3-5pm.
