SPOTLIGHT
RICHARD COMBES
Combes's new paintings continue to fascinate the eye. His works, largely painted in monochrome colors, show the contradictory nature of New York Interior architecture which fuses the elegance of marble walls and tiled floors in a setting that is ultimately industrial in appearance. His visual acuity is best observed in the reflective surfaces and in the hundreds of tiles that make up the floors.

From the Previous E-mail: Two very different visions of water are viewable in the works of Edward Minoff and Sung Hee Jang. Minoff gives us a romantic, moody piece while Jang portrays the playful, ambiguous nature of the subject. Both give us very powerful pictures to contemplate.
