Participants are the installations. Learn this important cultural dance. Rehearse with an experienced choreographer and then perform the dance in a performance space where participants will be videotaped and then viewed online. Wear comfortable clothes and bring black tights or pants with a black top for the performance. The gumboot dance (or Welly Boot dance) is an African dance performed by dancers wearing Wellington boots. This dance was often used as a code or system of calling to say something to another person a distance away. It acted in place of language among those working in the mining grounds.
