Free Sunday Set For Bruce Goff: A Creative Mind

For Immediate Release

Free Sunday Set For Bruce Goff: A Creative Mind

BARTLESVILLE, OK—Price Tower Arts Center hosts its monthly Free Sunday event for the exhibition, Bruce Goff:  A Creative Mind on February 20th.  The day will feature free admission to the gallery and a craft project for children.  PTAC will be open from noon to 5 p.m.

The exhibition is a collaborative effort involving Price Tower Arts Center, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art and the Colleges of Architecture and Engineering at the University of Oklahoma.  Goff’s original drawings are the primary resource for the exhibition and they are brought to life utilizing 3-D construction models and cinematic photorealistic computer animation.  Previously, the objects were only seen in developmental stages, renderings or historic photographs.

“This exhibition is very special for Price Tower Arts Center.  Bruce Goff was one of the most notable tenants of the Price Tower.  When our building opened, he set up his architectural practice in Apartment 4 of the Price Tower.  He worked for eight years on the 9th and 10th floors of the tower designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.  During that time, he saw 11 projects realized,” said Scott Perkins, curator for Price Tower Arts Center.

The Free Sunday will include a special hands-on craft project for children.  Families will have the opportunity to make Feather Collages.  The craft activity will begin at 1 p.m.

ConocoPhillips, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Oklahoma Arts Council and Furthermore:  a program of the J.M. Kaplan Fund are sponsors of Bruce Goff:  A Creative Mind.  For more information about PTAC or the exhibition, call 918.336.4949 or visit pricetower.org.
