Films responding to Sheela Gowda's exhibition
Sheela Gowda's work explores the idea of a commitment to process, however visible or invisible, and the duration and the skill attached to it. These films have been selected by art historian Shanay Jhaveri around this notion.

17 February screening
Harun Farocki's In Comparison, 2009, depicts assorted traditions of brick production, travelling from Burkina Faso to India, and on to industrial production lines in Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland.

24 February screening
Ilisa Barbash and Lucien Castaing-Taylor's beautiful film Sweetgrass, 2009, follows the last modern day cowboys leading their flocks of sheep up into Montana's breathtaking and dangerous mountains.

Films responding to Sheela Gowda's exhibition
A selection of short experimental and documentary films which move from abstraction to the political, curated by Nicole Wolf, lecturer in film and visual cultures. They have been chosen to meet Sheela Gowda's work and interrogate layers of violence present in the context of a material to its habitat.

Filmmakers include: Wasim Mushtaq Wani, Ashish Avikunthak, Ayisha Abraham and Avijit Mukul Kishore.
