Insectival! at the
County Museum
What kind of insect can live up to 50 years?
Which bugs taste with their feet? And how many “knees” do spiders have? Find out
the answers as you encounter these insects at the “Insectival!” at the
San
Bernardino
County Museum on Saturday, March 12 from 9am to 5pm. This program is included in paid museum
admission.
“It is going to be one fun creepy crawly day at
the Insectival,” said Museum Educator Nancy Kirkwood. “Families will be able to
explore the fascinating world of insects by meeting live bugs up close and
personal. Children can also enjoy insect games, cockroach races, face-painting,
story-telling, making crafts to bring home, and more.”
At 11am and 2pm, visitors can learn “All About Bugs” and meet
many live critters. At 12:15 and 3:15pm, kids will be
invited to join the “Insect Olympics,” and compare their abilities, such as
jumping and carrying, to what different types of bugs can do. Parents will also
want to hear the short presentation about “Bed Bugs” at 1pm.
The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California
Street
exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. General admission is $8 (adult), $6 (senior and
military), $5 (student with ID), and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under
