KENOSHA, WI – Donna Agnelly discusses the use of quilts during the period of the Underground Railroad at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20 at the Civil War Museum. It has been suggested that quilts were used extensively as a means of communication to slaves escaping on the Underground Railroad. Learn about the Underground Railroad and to what extent, quilts were used during that period. Agnelly also looks at how quilts were used during the years of the Civil War and the women who created them. This free public presentation is held in Freedom Hall at the Civil War Museum, and is sponsored by The Milwaukee Civil War Round Table and the Iron Brigade Association.
