Dear Absolute Arts,
Hello, how are you doing? I hope this message finds you well!
If you can I would truly appreciate this story being shared on your website, or news letter to your subscribers and community.
My name is Marie Tomeoki, I am a contemporary abstract visual artist born in Tokyo, residing at the moment in Toronto Canada. I entered a competition a few months back for the Canada Post for a mental health awareness stamp design, and recently I was notified that the stamp I designed is in the top five finalists. Feb. 14 through March 14th the top five designs are opened to public voting (through social networking sites, etc), I am a passionate and dedicated supporter of raising
mental health awareness (on top of my determined goals of establishing myself as an international fine artist).
Every single art piece I have produced tells a story, and are layers of who I am as an individual; I have lived with chronic major depression all of my life as well as major anxiety disorders, I am also very proud of having completely recovered from my deathly experience with anorexia and bulimia. My life is chock full of stories and I feel it is extremely important to share and connect with others through these experiences. Sometimes my art pieces offer the buffer or trigger needed for ground breaking discoveries, reflections, conversations, emotions and thoughts. From this I find purpose.
The design I created for the stamp competition was originally a large painting which I adjusted to fit that of a tiny stamp. The art piece is called "Unprepared in Wellies" as my inspiration stemmed from a recent trip to the UK, loss, and reality of the world in which we live.
A more personal look at my life as an artist:

I truly appreciate your time, and thank you for listening. I would love to have my story shared with others and hope to hear from you. Please take care and have a wonderful day!
Kindest Regards,
Marie
