BEANS -- As a member of Antipop Consortium, Beans was credited as the source of most of the bands eclecticism and unpredictability. His abstract sense of syncopation of bizarre, labrynth rhymes is the perfect embodiment of the Antipop philosophy, and his production style is complex and cleverly understated. His first three solo albums allowed him to delve deeper into his strange inner world, and his forthcoming End It All is a diversification, with Beans bringing in more outside production and colaborating with the likes of Tunde Adebimpe (TV On The Radio) and Sam Fogarino (Interpol).

EDAN (w/ PATEN LOCKE) -- Edan could be considered the bridge between the boom bap hip-hop of the Cold Crush and the spaced out alternative hip-hop of Busdriver and Aesop Rock. A Berklee alum who is both a balanced producer and technically proficient MC, Edan's diverse style is extremely polished and compliments his numerous collaborators, be they Mr. Lif, Akrobatiks, Murs and DOOM. His first released LP Primitive Weapons was the debut pressing of Lewis Records, a boutique UK hip-hop label going 9 years strong. He is also a skilled DJ and his mixtapes, the latest being 2009's Echo Party are some of the most hip-hop collections available. For the February 16 show, he will be joined by another hip-hop renaissance man, Paten Locke, whose style highlights tongue-in-cheek rhymes and jazzed-out tracks.

Reigning from New Jersey/New York ILL NINO are a force to be reckoned with. "Dead New World" will be their 5th international full length. "Revolution Revolucion" marked what was the beginning for these founding fathers of Latin metal. The band continues strong 10 years later. The fans are what drives ILL NINO to dominate after a decade.

Friday, February 18, 7PM

18+ // $10 at the door

A no-frills take on modern garage pop, Le Mood's slick tunes waste no time burrowing their way into the minds of the unsuspecting listener. Their fine-tuned sense of texture and understatedly advanced musicianship set them apart from their peers. They'll be celebrating their album release on Friday before soldiering on to make indie history.

Meat Beat Manifesto with Not Breathing and music by Jack Dangers

Saturday, February 19, 7:30PM

18+ // TICKETS

For 13 years Meat Beat Manifesto has been laying down frenetic beats and for just as long critics have had trouble defining them. Their heavy, layered and atmospheric sounds, anchored by permanent member Jack Dangers, have been categorized as "IDM," "Industrial," "Techno," and "Trip-hop," but their dark and barren tone have always given them a distinct and recognizable sound.PopMatters called their 2010 LPAnswers Come In Dreams, "infinitely listenable."

718 Sessions President's Day: Danny Krivit with special guests Discovery (residents VDRK and Free Magic) [Downstairs]

Sunday, February 20, 6:00PM

21+ // $5 to the first 100 before 7PM / $12 with Flyer or Membership

Danny Krivit has been called the "Godfather of the Disco Edit," a pioneer for remixers, compilers and producers from the days of disco and on into the soulful house movement. His 718 Sessions residency has bridged this gap for New Yorkers, and attracts a crowd consisting entirely of people getting down, no wallflowers. DISCOVERY has been doing the same for a new generation of electro-disco devotees on a monthly basis in our basement, attracting accolades from L Magazine and TimeOut.
