FOR THE 2011 ARCHIBALD, WYNNE & SULMAN PRIZES

The names of artists selected for the Archibald, Wynne & Sulman Prizes will be announced on Friday 8 April, 11am along with the Packing Room Prize winner.
The Packing Room Prize winner receives $1,000 cash. First awarded in 1991, the Packing Room Prize is adjudicated by the Gallery’s storeman, Steve Peters. ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS FOR THE 2011 ARCHIBALD, WYNNE & SULMAN PRIZES
Friday 15 April, 12 noon
The Archibald Prize was first awarded in 1921. The winners of all three prizes will be announced on Friday 15 April at 12 noon. The winner of the Archibald Prize receives $50,000, the Wynne Prize for landscape painting or figure sculpture $25,000 and the Sulman Prize for subject/genre painting and/or mural work, $20,000. THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE WINNER
Thursday 16 June, 11am
Since 1988 the public has voted for its favourite portrait in the Archibald exhibition. The winner of the People’s Choice will be announced on Thursday 16 June at 11am. The artist receives $2,500 and a $1,000 ANZ Visa Debit Card for winning the People’s Choice. Each year a voter for the Archibald painting which receives the most voters is selected to win $2,500 and a $1,000 ANZ Visa Debit Card and 2 nights accommodation at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth. The Archibald, Wynne & Sulman exhibition opens to the public on 16 April – 26 June, 2011 at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Admission $10 adult, $7 concession/student.
