Translations Gallery Takes on a New Direction with 20 New Artists |
DENVER, COLORADO - 2/17/2011
Since January 1st, Translations Gallery owner, Judy Pereira Hagler, has been seeking a new energy and different perspectives from the artists she works with. She kicked off the new year, by showcasing a plethora of new artists themed under contemporary western, jumping on the National Western Stock Show bandwagon. On February 17th, Translations gallery will be showcasing all new artists' varying perspectives in a show rightly titled, New Perspectives. Judy and her new assistant director, Jillian Pate, decided to welcome many new artists by listening to the comments of their patrons and responding to their desires to include more than just abstract. They began searching for artists who offered something unique to viewers. The gallery now carries figurative paintings, encausitc, architectural portraits, photography, jewelry and steel sculpture. Leaving behind the exclusivity of abstract and textile, the gallery's new direction showcases unique local artists that have unprecedented perspectives that are relatable yet challenging. Judy and Jillian are both excited for the possibilities of this new year with so many emerging, mid career and well known artists to add to their already dynamic collection of artists. Included in New Perspectives are Patricia Aaron, Ana Maria Botero, Will Day, Cheryl Dietz, James Dormer, Paul Flippen, Lance Green, Barry Gillespie, Jac Kephart, Paul Opsahl, Arlon Rosenoff, Sandhi Schimmel Gold, Greg Smith, Rob Williams, and Elizabeth Wonnacott.
