- Add your text/images/logos to the BECA ICAD Founders' Wall -

With the help of Samantha Clark of Berger Briggs, our non-profit project, the BECA Foundation, has located a great property in downtown Albuquerque, NM that would be very suitable to housing the BECA (International Center for Art + Design). 

BECA ICAD (International Center for Art + Design) will be the world's first multi-cultural international platform dedicated to the exhibition of new works by both emerging artists + designers as well as other emerging creative producers from around the world. The exhibition facility will showcase future forward works and new innovations from around the world from an interdisciplinary array of emerging talent in the visual arts, performing arts, music and literary arts - film, video and new media - architecture and graphic, industrial, fashion and interactive design as well as from science and the culinary arts. BECA ICAD is being envisioned as a type of United Nations of emerging art + design with different regions of the world featured in an ever-evolving format.Programming will also have a dedicated component featuring New Mexico creative producers to help them gain broader international exposure.

It feels as if we've climbed a mountain just to get to this point but we're almost there. We've been busy planning, coordinating and collaborating on new international public arts programming for emerging creative producers that takes full advantage of a new larger scale exhibition facility. We are excited to breathe new life into a vacant downtown Albuquerque building while simultaneously creating a new cultural destination for the City of Albuquerque. The BECA Foundation has grown an initial network from approximately 200 members of the international art + design communities to over 32,000 within its first 3 years of operation. The BECA Foundation intends to utilize its unique programming and leading international outreach and audience development activities for the benefit of BECA ICAD and the City of Albuquerque. We hope to develop new tourism for Albuquerque and local businesses while potentially exposing new investment opportunities here in Albuquerque to a new audience. Many in our growing network may have never considered Albuquerque for its cultural and investment offerings. The BECA ICAD development could serve as a new catalyst for additional tourism and future investment.

We've created a fun way for friends, supporters and sponsors to add their permanent, tangible mark on the new BECA ICAD exhibition facility. We are creating a collaboration with founding supporters called The BECA ICAD Founders' Wall. The physical wall will be sized 4' x 40' (1.2192 m x 12.192 m) (please see the wall-in-progress sketch above) filled with your marks from around the world: ie. your favorite quotes, words of wisdom, your own art + design, your organization's, business' or project's website URL and logo, etc...whatever you'd like to include as your permanent mark of expression. You may select any sized portion of the Founders' Wall composed of any number of contiguous square inches in which to have your mark placed.  The Founders’ Wall will also have a corresponding online format in addition to the physical wall. The new downtown exhibition facility will need some TLC but we're fortunate to have pledges from volunteers and in-kind donors to help bring a space into a successful fruition.  What we need now is to raise as much support funding as possible to secure and staff the new space, so please join us for the launch of our FOUNDERS' WALL campaign and please bring a friend or two!
