ACP Autumn Exhibitions and Term 2 Workshop

The ACP Autumn Season is nearly upon us and we have a superb line-up of photography exhibitions and workshop courses in the pipeline! Join us on Thursday 17 March for our Russian-inspired opening introducing contemporary Russian photography and striking imagery by talented artists Ray Cook and Sean O'Carroll.

If you hurry, Workshop Term 1 second intake courses are still available. Browse through our highlights below or head over to the ACP website to see the full selection. Term 2 courses will be launched on 1 March so keep an eye out.

Specialist Course

Learn how to make attractive commercial images for magazines, catalogues and the web. Discover how to photograph reflective surfaces, build a product portfolio, how to work to a brief and with art directors.

Camera RAW
Intermediate Course

Unlock the full potential of your digital SLR by learning the non-destructive image editing techniques possible in Adobe's Camera Raw. The course will cover under and over exposure correction, recovering "lost" data and more.

Intermediate Course

Understand how to use Lightroom efficiently, enabling you to spend more time behind the camera. Topics will include downloading, managing, editing, correcting and presenting your photos, from a few shots to an entire photo shoot.

24 HR Art International Residency Program

Beijing

In parternship with Asialink, 24HR Art has established a new residency facility in Beijing offering studio space and accommodation for up to two months. The program is open to all Australian visual artists, with a focus on those from regional and remote areas.

This beautiful and enigmatic exhibition is an elegy for what is lost when the outcast becomes assimilated and identity becomes just another commodity in the Neo-Liberal economy. Celebrating the sexual potency of ambiguity and the freedom that lies beyond the pale, the images wrap a tough politics of resistance within a sensuous visual poetry.

What Price Equality? Artist Talk

Queensland artist Ray Cook discusses the challenging ideas that lie behind his evocative imagery. Growing up in a turbulent period when public hostility to homosexuality and the counterculture of individual freedom spawned a radical Queer politics, Cook did not seek assimilation into the mainstream, but the right to be different.
