We hope you are well. We at Dublin Contemporary are delighted to announce our presentation of the Open Forum talks at this year’s The Armory Show, New York.
 
Featuring Lead Curators Jota Castro and Christian Viveros-Fauné, alongside Dublin Contemporary 2011 artists , the debate will be on the following topic:

Biennials As Barometers of Social Transformation? Dublin Contemporary 2011: Art, Crisis, Change & The Office of Non-Compliance.
 
Open Forum, curated by Stamatina Gregory, takes place at The Armory Show (March 3^rd – 6^th, 2011) and presents an eclectic series of conversations and panels comprising of top art world figures including: Gabriel Kuri (Armory Show artist), Judd Tully (Art+Auction), Franklin Sirmans (Chief Curator of Contemporary Art, LACMA), Suzanne Lemakis (Director, Department of Fine Arts, Citigroup) and Lindsay Pollock (Editor-in-Chief, Art in America).
 
The first edition of Dublin Contemporary, opening September 6^th 2011, will host both emerging and established Irish-based artists alongside leading artists from around the globe. Rather than a contemplative experience of art, the exhibition invokes the social and economic dynamism of the present to explore urgent themes like violence, pleasure, nationalism, terror, poverty, beauty, the sublime, censorship, the relationship between the artist and society, and the West’s unfolding recession.
