KENOSHA, WI – Instructor Diane
Leischow teaches a workshop, Precious Metal Clay, which shows
students how to turn polyurethane clay into fine silver. It will take
place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 5 at the Kenosha Public
Museum.
Experience the magic of turning a lump
of polyurethane clay into fine silver pendants and earrings. The clay
contains minute particles of silver that when fired in kiln become
pure silver. Students can bring favorite leaves, stampers, or objects
for an all over texture. After class, the instructor will fire,
polish, and return your jewelry to the Museum where you can pick them
up. A supply fee of $36 is paid to the instructor, which includes the
silver clay and use of the instructor's tools. Samples on view at the
Kenosha Public Museum gift shop. Cost of the workshop is $42 or $37
for Friends of the Museums. Advance registration is needed by Feb.
27.
