Student to give violin recital

Peoria, IL (February 25, 2011) Kelsey Klopfenstein, a junior violin performance major at Bradley University, will present a violin recital on Friday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue. Admission is free and open to the public.  
 
The program will consist of Chaconne from Partita No. 2 in D Minor for Solo Violin by J.S Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata No. 8 in G major, Romance in F Minor for violin and piano by Antonín Dvořák, and Eugène Ysaÿe’s Sonata No. 3 in D Minor “Ballade.”  Assisting Kelsey in her recital will be Molly Sloter on piano.

Kelsey is the daughter of Wayne and Carol Klopfenstein of Peoria and  a 2007 graduate of Crown Ambassador Academy. Studying violin with Marcia Henry Liebenow, faculty of the Bradley music department, Kelsey is also interested in orchestral conducting and plans to seek higher education in violin performance and conducting.  Kelsey plays with the Bradley Symphony Orchestra and the Peoria Symphony Orchestra, and also participates in Bradley’s chamber music groups.
