Houston, TX, February 28, 2011- Art League Houston is now registering for the SPRING 2011 semester of art classes. Be sure to register by 5 pm on March 12th for a discount of $25 per class and become a member of Art League Houston to save an additional $35 off each class!

In addition to our host of adult art classes, check out our less formal wine and painting sessions called Art.Social. Also, don't miss the upcoming art classes for toddlers!

Founded in 1968, the Art League Studio School offers a variety of affordable art classes for adults of any skill level. Classes are usually three hours in length and are offered throughout the week at convenient times (day and evening) and on Saturdays. Students can choose from several classes in jewelry making, painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, and watercolor. Art League Houston memberships start at $35 a year and can be purchased at the time of registration. Many students join ALH to receive reduced tuition rates. In addition to discounts on classes, members are eligible to participate in the annual juried member exhibition and the ALH Members Only groups. These groups include the Open Figure Studio, where members can draw or paint from a live model, and the Plein Air Painting Group , an informal gathering of ALH members who meet on location to draw or paint outdoors. Kids Studio 2011 Summer Art Camps

Art League Houston's Kids Studio summer camps provide children with creative,fun ways to engage their imaginations through visual art activities. Each one week session is thematic in nature and taught by one of Art League Houston's outstanding teaching artists. As kids create art, they will explore ideas, learn arts vocabulary, and experiment with a variety of arts media. They will reinforce skills such as problemsolving, observation, and cooperation. Most of all, they will have fun!

Each Kids Studio summer camp is five days in length from Monday through Friday,10:00am to 3:00pm daily. However, early care and late care are also available. ArtLeague Houston provides all art supplies, a camp T shirt, and snacks. *Campers must bring a sack lunch each day.*

EARLY REG. (BEFORE MAY 31): $235 Non-members / $200 ALH Family Members

LATE REG. (AFTER MAY 31 ): $260 Non-Members / $225 ALH Family Members

OPTIONAL CARE: per week, per child

Art.Social  For grown-ups only!

 

Open a bottle of wine and let your creativity flow while you create your own masterpiece with one of Art League Houston's outstanding teaching artists!  Great for absolute beginners and experienced artists alike, in this class you will produce works of high quality to take home at the end of the evening. Come alone or with friends and bring your beverage of choice. We provide everything else, including glasses, bottle openers, and your artistic materials. There is a refrigerator on site to keep your drinks cold. Sign up for one, two, or all sessions!
