March Cartoonist in Residence: Audrey Soffa

Cartoon Art Museum Event:  Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 1pm to 3pm

San Francisco, CA
:  The Cartoon Art Museum hosts cartoonist Audrey Soffa on Saturday, March 26, 2011, from 1pm to 3pm, as part of its ongoing Cartoonist-in-Residence program.  Museum visitors will be offered the chance to talk to Soffa about cartooning and view her work.  This event is free and open to the public.

Audrey Soffa was born in San Francisco in 1982 and has been drawing pretty much since she was old enough to manipulate a crayon. She attended New York University, and it was during this time that she began her long-running serial project "The Bunny System," (http://thebunnysystem.com) which was first launched online in 2004 and continues to this day.  Soffa launched a second project in 2007, "The Life and Times of SinisterCat," ( http://sinister-cat.livejournal.com/) which ran for three years and was much loved by cat and dark-humor enthusiasts alike. In 2010 she published her first book, a collection of the first year of Bunny System cartoons, called "Endangered Species."

She has also collaborated on the creation of two volumes of a comic called "Sauce!" with fellow cartoonist Mike Hales. Currently Soffa is working on a second Bunny System book and an independent project tentatively called "Chat."  She lives in San Francisco, CA, and is an active member of the San Francisco Cartoonist Conspiracy.  For more examples of her work, visit http://portfolio.thebunnysystem.com/Main_Page.html
