FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
(See links below to formatted release and images)

SETON HALL LAW LOBBY FILLED WITH “NONSENSE”

Nonsense, curated by City Without Walls (cWOW) Gallery Manager Jill Wickenheisser, explores artists who use nonsensical and fantasy imagery in their work. The exhibition includes eighteen large two-dimensional works by artists John Coburn, Thomas Francisco, Rachel Leibman, Bud McNichol, Elizabeth Mead, Andrea Morganstern, and Melinda Yale. The exhibition is free and open to the public from August 2, 2010 through January 7, 2011, daily 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., at Seton Hall University School of Law, One Newark Center, Newark, NJ 07102.

The artists in this exhibition playfully address the interconnectivity between real and imaginary characters and objects in nature, social and political situations.  The results can make viewers laugh or just allow them to explore the sensations of a new environment. The exhibition displays a variety of large-scale media such as photographs, paintings, mosaics, pencil drawings, and paintings on photographs.

cWOW Gallery Manager Jill Wickenheisser is a curator, photographer and art educator. Ms. Wickenheisser curated the exhibition “Storm” for SubmergedArt Gallery in 2010 and was previously associate curator at Jajo Gallery, both in Newark.
