Jeanne states about her work, "Throughout history humans have attributed various symbolic and sacred meanings
to trees.
"For me, they represent a shelter from the hot sun or the wind, childhood
memories of climbing up high to get a better view of the world around me or
simply a place to hide, a memorial planted to honor one who has passed away,
and a reminder that life goes on, even when it appears to have ended.
"I find the latter to be especially true in the fall, albeit, some see it as a
time of death and decay, yet I see it as a time when nature goes to sleep with
the promise to return in the spring. They symbolize life...at rest."
