Celebrate with all your senses tomorrow night and see MCASD’s three newly opened solo exhibitions in the downtown Joan and Irwin Jacobs Building.
See Jennifer Steinkamp's panoramic field of moving flowers and trees will delight your sense of sight, along with Joan Jonas' intriguing video installation and Raul Cordero’s engaging matrix of oil paintings.
Cuckoo Chaos and Jamuel Saxon have been booked to cover sound, and several cash bars and everyone’s favorite food truck, MIHO Gastrotruck, will offer handmade, farm-to-table street food to satisfy your taste buds.
Artists Jennifer Steinkamp and Raúl Cordero will be on hand to discuss their work. Cordero will give an artist talk at 7:45 PM, and Steinkamp will speak about her work at 8:30 PM. Attendance is on a first-come, first-serve basis.Cuckoo Chaos is set to play from 8:15 to 9 PM, and Jamuel Saxon will play from 9:15 to 10 PM.
The Berglund Room will be transformed into an interactive sensory lounge featuring DJ Crystal Mess, art-making activities, and a scent station created especially for TNT guests. DJ Crystal Mess play and featuring a Local artist Brian Goeltzenleuchter will create a “scent-scape” that serves as a collective portrait of the regional demographics of TNT patrons. Guests can visit the scent station to smell and wear the scent created for their region. The Berglund room will be open to all ages from 7-8:30 PM, and 21 and over from 8:30-10 PM.
MCASD Members are invited for a special one-hour preview from 6 to 7 PM, which includes tours of the exhibitions and exclusive opportunities to engage with the artists and their work.
