Artist Talk moderated by Cyberarts Director George Fifield, May 2, 6pm
Experience artist Brian Kane's newest floor-to-ceiling sculpture installation from his 'Real Reality Project'. Taking tongue-in-cheek inspiration from popular internet iconography, this Cambridge-based artist extracts images from the 2-D zeitgeist and creates real objects for real spaces.
CAC Gallery is one of three 'Real Reality Project' sculpture sites that will be on view this spring across Massachusetts. Waiting for Google will exhibit as part of Memery at MASS MoCA in North Adams. OMG! will be on view at Hampden Gallery at UMass Amherst. For locations of all three 'Real Reality Project' spring exhibitions .
Free WiFi is presented by the Cambridge Arts Council in collaboration with the Boston Cyberarts Festival, a celebration of advancement of traditional visual and performing arts disciplines as well creation of new interactive worlds through the use of technology.

Artists + Researchers Redux: Radical Reference Librarians

Calling all artists, activists and other engaged practitioners. Overwhelmed by the amount of information on the internet? Unable to find the data you know is out there? Confused about the ethics of research? Boston Radical Reference Collective (BRRC) can help! Radical Reference is a collective of volunteer library workers who believe in social justice and equality. They provide professional research support, education and access to information. Join us for our second Researchers+Artists conversation and walk away ready to find and use the wealth of information available.This event will be especially relevant to artists those whose work and creative practice engages specific social issues, is in some way community- or locally-oriented, or just requires access to information, data, or research resources beyond one's area of expertise BRRC members Alana Kumbier and Heather McCann will discuss freely-available online research resources and ways the BRRC can provide local assistance. After the presentation, we will open up the conversation for questions and discussion of ongoing (or potential) projects. | Artist Opportunities |
Our friends at the Museum of Science are currently accepting stories for their Cosmic Story Slam, as part of Moonwalk MashUp on May 4 -- held in the Museum's newly-renovated planetarium. Stories should be between 2-5 minutes when read aloud. Audience-choice prizes will be awarded for favorite stories and costumes. Entries should be submitted as audio or video files or links, emailed to arts@mos.org by March 24.
