Sheldon Gala 2011 John Pizzarelli and the Swing Seven "Rockin' in Rhythm: A Tribute to Duke Ellington" Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.
Pizzarelli's performance will feature music from his latest album, "Rockin' in Rhythm," a tribute to jazz pianist Duke Ellington, whom Pizzarelli calls "jazz's greatest star!" Songs such as "Don't Get Around Much Anymore," "I'm Beginning to See the Light," "Satin Doll" and "In My Solitide" are re-interpreted with Pizzarelli's trademark style and personality, but with great respect towards the original compositions.

Rhythm & Blues for Babies featuring Kim Massie A Benefit for the March of Dimes Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.
From jazz and blues to gospel, R&B, funk and soul, St. Louis music icon Kim Massie is one of our city's most popular vocalists and musical artists. She has shared the stage with artists as diverse as blues greats Oliver Sain and Bennie Smith, rock-and-roll legend Johnnie Johnson and pop music star Cyndi Lauper, and her performances range from clubs to concert halls and festivals. She has also won acclaim for her musical theater roles with the St. Louis Black Rep in "Ain't Nothing But the Blues" and "Damn Yankees."
THIS CONCERT WAS RESCHEDULED TO THURSDAY, MARCH 24. Tickets with the original Jan 5 performance date will be valid at the door for this new date. Gallery Highlight Two Exhibits by featured Artist Max Lazarus:
Bellwether Gallery of St. Louis Artists Trier / St. Louis / Denver - A Jewish Artist's Fate Through May 7, 2011
Organized by the Stadtmuseum Simeonstift, Trier, Germany, this exhibition traces the life and artistic development of the German-Jewish artist Max Lazarus (1892-1961) through over 50 paintings, lithographs and synagogue designs. An extraordinary colorist, Lazarus produced expressive works that included landscapes, portraits, and some politically charged subjects. .
Gallery Talk: April 12, 6 p.m., Dan Reich, Curator and Director of Education at the Holocaust Museum and Learning Center In Memory of Gloria M.Goldstein, will speak on Max Lazarus's career as an artist in exile. Bellwether Gallery, admission free.

Bernoudy Gallery of Architecture The Synagogue Murals Through May 7, 2011
Drawn from the travelling exhibition Max Lazarus: Trier / St. Louis / Denver – A Jewish Artist's Fate on view in the Bellwether Gallery, this exhibition focuses on a series of beautiful gouache paintings of synagogue mural designs that Lazarus completed between 1921 and 1931. Designs for other Synagogues that were never realized will also be on view. Lazarus is now considered one of the most important synagogue painters in Western Germany. This exhibition is organized by the Stadtmuseum Simeonstift, Trier, Germany.
The exhibitions are underwritten by the David S. Millstone Arts Foundation with additional support from The Millstone Foundation, Gary and Sherry Wolff, Esley Hamilton and Angela M. Gonzales.

Musica SLESA is St. Louis' newest ensemble devoted to the promotion of Latin Music. Comprised of some of the area's top performers and educators, Musica SLESA puts forth arrangements of contemporary Latin music as well as a fresh look at classics of the Latin Jazz genre. Driving grooves, virtuosic horn lines, powerful vocals and masterful improvisations will inspire audiences for years to come.

Hailing from St. Louis, MO, Hazard To Ya Booty fuses elements of rock, soul, hip-hop, jazz and blues to make a head bobbing funk sound that's guaranteed to get people moving and sweating. If Hazard could inject any more energy into their live shows they would cause an audio supernova and be sucked into a funky black hole.
