Art Dubai 2011 will debut Markers, a new section for experimental art spaces from Asia and the Middle East to showcase projects by emerging artists. The fair will also launch Forum Fellows, a fellowship program for young curators, artists and art administrators from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia (MENASA) region. Presentations by the fellows will take place as part of the Global Art Forum.

Other highlights include the announcement of the shortlist for the Jameel Prize, an international award for contemporary art and design inspired by Islamic tradition, organized by the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. The fair will also showcase the winning projects of this year's Abraaj Capital Art Prize, presented to artists and curators from the MENASA region.
