Telematic
Transform Music
April 23, 2011, in
New York, Montreal,
San Diego, Irvine, and
Seattle
TeLEmatic music composer Sarah Weaver presents two
new works exploring Transform through nodality in mixed-reality performance. Telematic music is real-time performance via the
internet by musicians in different geographic locations. Two new works
for this emerging artistic medium will be premiered by an amazing ensemble
comprised of some of the most renowned innovators in creative improvised music,
computer music, and contemporary concert music. Transform is explored through
the concept of ‘node’ as point of multiple intersections. “Node 111” for solo
percussion expresses this through multiplicity of self. “Node 4x4” works with a
quartet in New York and a geographically spatialized quartet between San Diego,
Irvine, Montreal, and Seattle. The concert takes place over
high-bandwidth internet with specialized telematic audio and video
technology. Admission to the New
York location is free but space is limited and RSVP is strongly encouraged!
