“Inspiration”  -  Durban Art Gallery Archives Exhibition at artSPACE durban

 

Opening Monday, March 28  at 6:30pm

Closing Saturday, April 16 at 2:00pm

 

A group of KwaZulu-Natal-based artists met on December 9th at the Durban Art Gallery Archives with the formidable task to find the one artwork that was most inspirational to each of them.  At the end of the day twenty-three artists came away with twenty-three images that have now become their foundations of a new artwork.  There were no restrictions as to the subject matter chosen nor are there any restrictions as to the interpretations.  The exhibition will showcase both images of the original artworks and the interpretations.
