Celebrated chamber choir The Texas Voices continues its eighth season of public concerts with In Sweet Music: Shakespeare in Song on Saturday, March 26, 2011.

The concert includes choral arrangements of William Shakespeare’s poetry, including It Was a Lordling’s Daughter by Paul Thompson, Orpheus with His Lute by Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Sigh No More, Ladies by George Shearing. 

The 24-member professional chorus, directed by Alan Dyer, will perform its third concert of the season at 6:30 p.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1919 Independence Parkway in Plano. 

Tickets are $22 regular, $15 for seniors (65+), and $10 for students and may be purchased online at www.thetexasvoices.org, at the door, or by calling 214-384-6336.

Founded in December 2002, this 24-voice professional ensemble celebrates the choral tradition with a rich variety of music, from sacred to secular, classic to contemporary. Artistic Director Alan Dyer has gathered skilled singers from a broad range of backgrounds and leads them with a musical sensitivity that places The Texas Voices among the top echelon of choruses nationwide.
