KENOSHA, WI – Join instructor Laura
Zielinski for a class in basic soap making from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Saturday, Apr. 2 at the Civil War Museum.
The art of soap making was a necessary
domestic activity practiced during the Civil War-era. Learn this
practical art form and its history. The mild soap created in class is
made from scratch using lye and oils. Cut your soap block into bars
after class and wait for it to cure before using it. A supply fee of
$13 is paid to the instructor. Cost of the workshop is $15.
Intermediate
Soap Making will be the focus on a class from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 9 with Zielinski. Learn how to add color and
fragrance to handmade soap. A supply fee of $15 is paid to the
instructor. Cost of the class is $15. Advance registration is
required for both classes.
