Children's art classes begin April 5

– After school art classes for children in first through fifth
grade begin Tuesday, April 5 at the Kenosha Public Museum. The
classes are from 4-5 p.m. and continue for eight weeks. The cost is
$50 or $40 for Friends of the Museums. Advance registration in
required.
Jill
Montgomery will lead an eight-week class, Create
with Clay beginning
April 6.
Participants will learn to shape clay using the slab pinch, and coil
methods. Their finished works will be fired and glazed.
Montgomery
will teach Draw &
Paint on Thursdays
beginning April 7. Students will learn the basics of drawing and
painting using a variety of media including pencil, charcoal,
tempera, acrylics, and watercolors.
Bob
Anderson will teach Basic
Cartooning: Animals
for youths ages 7-16 from 4-5 p.m. beginning Tuesday, April 5.
Students will learn to draw cartoon animals using basic shapes. The
class includes a variety of projects and activities, including
looking at some famous cartoon animals in animation and learning to
draw them.
Artstart,
a class for children ages 2-4 with an adult, will be offered at two
different times on Tuesdays beginning April 5. Classes meet from 9:30
– 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. - noon and continue through May 24 with
Diane Smith. The class includes a variety of different experiences to
help preschoolers become more comfortable in a structured classroom
setting. Cost is $50 or $40 for Friends of the Museums.
