La Grange, located in the south of France in the town of Le Muy, midway between Aix-en-Provence and Nice, is a spectacular 17th century farmhouse that has been completely renovated into a contemporary house by the distinguished architect, Claudio Silvestrin.

The building and the surrounding area is classified as a site historique while the property includes 5 acres of woods, through which a river runs with ducks and other wildlife. It is in the French countryside with a dramatic view of the nearby mountains and is only a 5 minute walk to a small and authentic village.  The oldest part of the building was originally built in the 16th century and was probably a resting area for religious monks (said to be Benedictine) and thus the gothic style windows, There is a Roman road nearby which was in use until 150 years ago when the present bridge was constructed now leading to the house.

Enter La Grange on the ground floor into a 25' X 60' grand and spacious limestone-floored living room, full of light. On the second floor there is a large, luxurious master bedroom and spectacular limestone bathroom in the private master wing of the house, and an additional four bedrooms and two full baths in the guest wing. A dramatic, central staircase connects the two wings. The kitchen is fully equipped for serious cooking featuring Gaggenau and Miele appliances and the dining table sits 8-10 people. La Grange has a discrete satellite television in the game room, a stereo system in the living room and wifi throughout the house.

The beautiful lap pool, 65 ft long is the model that the Aman hotel chain has emulated. There are fruit trees and vegetable and herb gardens on the large private grounds. There are two outdoor tables, which are shaded with trees for eating 'al fresco,' and ample lounge chairs for sunning and napping.

The house accommodates 10 people and in addition there is a long couch in the game room which can sleep 2 people. The house is fully furnished with sheets and towels and includes 3 hours of maid service, 5 days per week. Pool and lawn maintenance are also included.

In 1990 La Grange was completely renovated by the distinguished architect, Claudio Silvestrin, a master of contemporary minimalism. His clients include Giorgio Armani, Illy Caffe, Anish Kapoor, Calvin Klein, Poltrona Frau, Victoria Miro and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo for whom he designed a contemporary museum in Turin which has garnered much critical acclaim. He is known for the serene spaces and simple, essential forms of his architecture and interior design. La Grange has been featured in numerous magazines including Domus, Hauser, Elle (England), Elle (USA) and Tauschen's authoritative book on minimalism in architecture.

La Grange is available all of June, the first two weeks in July, and the last three weeks in September. The price is 6,000 Euros per week in June and July and 5,000 Euros per week in September.
