"Clay Bodvin Wins First Prize in 2010 WPGA Annual Pollux Awards"

Worldwide Photography Gala Awards

Borrowing from the notion of ‘the usable past’ Clay Bodvin went about selecting pics from an old childhood photo album.
And, by merging them with images of found interiors and remade spaces, the artist has produced a category winning series in the just announced 2010 WPGA Annual Pollux Awards.
In making his choices, Philip Brookman (Chief Curator and Head of Research at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington DC) reviewed and processed 18,912 images from 65 countries. He says "...each work, in its own way, provides a subjective experience for the viewer — one rooted in the artist’s experience — which allows us to bring our own understanding to these images." Clay Bodvin has been a Premiere Portfolio Member at absolutearts.com since 2004.

Clay Bodvin also has created three new portraits of the artist - using background images of dissolving objects in his striking re-constructed, found rooms - can be seen at - the power of self. This is a submission in a current Artists Wanted project. Clicking on an image shifts them into slide-mode with titles and a black backdrop.
In addition, coming up in June this year, Bodvin’s DonkeyArtPrize finalist-work, digital art selection, image #23 - 'Still Life III, Order of the Silver Spoon', will be in the Los Angeles exhibition at Hamilton Galleries, Santa Monica.
