Screening: Flux Fly Body Music

Fri, Apr 1, 8-9:30pm

Andy Ditzler screens a selection of short films by Yoko Ono, including collaborations with various members of the FLUXUS group. You won't want to miss the infamous FLY, where said insect explores a female nude. The evening concludes with audience participation in realizing Ono's Film Script #3, an instruction piece from 1964 that asks viewers to "cut the part of the image on the screen that they don't like."

Exhibition Openings: Jessica Jackson Hutchins: The Important Thing About A Chair, and John Heward: Things

Fri, Apr 8, 8-10pm

Works by Jessica Jackson Hutchins bring together glazed ceramic vessels nestled into altered furniture, and mixed media works on paper combining printmaking, collage, and drawing/writing. Hutchins was an acclaimed participant in the 2010 Whitney Biennial.

John Heward is one of Canada's most respected artists, and his formal investigations into the possibilities of painting and sculpture are well known in that country. He is also an internationally known jazz drummer. This is the first major presentation of his work in the United States.

Jessica Jackson Hutchins: The Important Thing About A Chair is made possible with generous support from the Tim and Lauren Schrager Family Foundation.

We are grateful to the Consulate General of Canada (Atlanta) for their support of our Patron Member reception.
