The Art Bazaar and The Huh What Art Studio present an exclusive, solo exhibition featuring various collections
of New York-based artist Oscar Dotter for the entire month of April 2011 (April 1-30, 2011).
The month-long show will be located at The Art Bazaar at 175 7th Avenue (at W. 20th Street) in Chelsea, New York City.
The work of Oscar Dotter has been described as "punk rock meets the paintbrush," as well as "jet fueled and hand crafted like a Howard Hughes aircraft."
Originally hailing from Finland and having grown up in Oregon, Oscar has lived in New York City since 1998. He often draws inspiration from retro and vintage themes, contrasted with bright backdrops of bold coloring, often with a touch of vulgarity.
A self-taught painter and photographer, Oscar typically works on canvas with heavy acrylic and oil paints, often incorporating other elements such as charcoal, silicon, leather, coffee, tea, plastics, textiles and urine.
Having painted his entire life, Oscar has also produced art and visual installations for various corporations and individuals throughout the New York City region.
Oscar has traveled extensively throughout Scandinavia, exploring the contemporary art scene including the Kiasma in his native land, and has also held his own private art exhibitions in New York City.
Oscar works out of his Huh What Art Studio located in Chelsea, New York. Various pieces of his collection can be found at www.oscardotter.com
