Alpine Trough Day Saturday, April 30 Alpine troughs–hand-made rustic containers–function as miniature, self-contained rock gardens that display diminutive plants in a small amount of space. Tree Giveaway Sunday, April 10 Thanks to a partnership with MillionTreesNYC, Wave Hill welcomes families, individuals and community groups to pick up one free tree for planting on private property within the five boroughs of New York City. Birding Along the Hudson Sundays, April 10 & 24 Explore the Hudson River's avian ecology in Manhattan and the Bronx. Plant of the Month Ipheion uniflorum (Spring Starflower): This frost-hardy, bulbous perennial from Argentina bears honey-scented blossoms from late winter through spring.
