INKubator PRESS Workshops 2011

Hello all,

We've got a busy couple months coming up at the print shop in April and May. New classes are rolling out like Unique Multiples: intaglio and chin colle with Clinton Ricketts on April 29th, 30th, and May 1st. Stop by this evening on April's 1st First Friday to see Clint's work and a special demonstration of his chin colle technique.

Back by popular demand is Heinrich Toh's High Rolling Monoprints workshop. Sign up while we still have space because last fall we had a waiting list. It runs April 15th, 16th and 17th.

If you're a procrastinator like myself there's still time to sign up for our weekend letterpress class happening tomorrow on April 2nd from 10-2pm. Kevin Horvath will guide you through the basics in setting type and using our two presses.

Also this evening we'll have Jest For Wolfbats: All Fools Day featuring Dennis McNett. Dennis brings his own style to printmaking, creating huge performative parades and events and tonight at 7:30 he'll be starting at the press heading through the crossroads with a tank and a band of print-clad cohorts and alien pinatas. Don't be late to tag along on their crazy tour. More on all these events and classes below.

We've been busy remodeling so be sure to stop by and see the new and improved INKubator PRESS. Check out the video of the letterpress move on our facebook! It's a whole new world and it's only going to get better. As always you can stop by for our cheap Monday Night Print Stuff $10 from 6-9. Our monthly member rate is only $100 a month and that's cheaper than almost any art studio in the metro area. With that cost you gain the use of our equipment, the community and the fringe benefits that apply. Let us know what you need to get you started.

If you're a trained printmaker and have some daytime hours available, apply to be a monitor. We need artists to help us keep the shop open 7 days a week. Download the application and submit to be considered. Hopefully we'll see you all tonight. It's sunny!

Clinton Ricketts Demo

Clinton Ricketts will be demonstrating his chin colle technique, the focal point of his upcoming class. He'll have work on display, and be printing throughout the night. Stop by and meet the artist and sign up for his class. Chin colle is a unique and fabulous way to add color and texture to your intaglio prints. Clinton knows all the tricks and will guide you through his process.

Jest For Wolfbats: All Fools Day featuring Dennis McNett

What: a show of very affordable prints and works at Escapist gallery by Dennis McNett.

WHAT ELSE!!: A Wolfbat War Vessel will be launched down the street from Inkubator Press (115 W. 18th St. KCM0 64108) at 7:30pm after slaying two alien Pinatas. Once the aliens are defeated the war vessel will battle it's way through first friday gallery streets and end at Escapist skateshop/gallery 405 Southwest Blvd. by 8:30pm where a grand finale battle of 4 more alien pinatas, a set will be played by SEDLEC OSSUARY (www.facebook.com/sedlecossuary ) , there may be fireworks, there will may be fire, and there WILL be slaughter!! Pinatas filled with free gear and goodies from Antihero, Vans, Spitfire, Volcom, and Wolfbat Studios. OH DID I MENTION SEDLEC OSSUARY will be playing inside the tank as it rolls through the streets??!! check youtube link below to get an idea of what is about to happen.
