Bert Green Fine Art presents the second solo exhibition of the works of Randall Cabe, a Los Angeles-based painter, college art professor, scholar, and member of the exclusive Pharmaka painter's group. Cabe has a singular focus on the female figure. Heroic in scope despite their intimate size, these paintings celebrate woman, while revealing the artist's ultimate surrender to the power of women to render him defenseless. This vulnerability is the flash point for Cabe's aesthetic, like so many other painters who suffered the same unfortunate affliction: Balthus, Picasso, Curran, Ingres. Cabe is not stylistically derivitave, however. These works are fresh and raw; honest and commanding; deft and smart. There is no pretense of veiling his subjugation -- devotion is his only option.
