Meghan Gordon
Frederick Samuel Dellenbaugh would
have liked to explore the Palisades

in the Sunroom Project Space

Meet the Artist: Sunday April 10, 1:30PM

Over the last year, Meghan Gordon has researched the artist and explorer Frederick Samuel Dellenbaugh (1853-1935), to whom the mural in Wave Hill's former recreation building (now the Ecology Building) is attributed. Gordon's installation gathers and overlaps her interpretations of historical marginalia, addresses various ways of representing nature, and highlights lesser known aspects of the Wave Hill property through the lens of Dellenbaugh. Gordon created her work during her Wave Hill 2011 Winter Workspace residency.

Gordon will lead a Family Art Project on Saturday and Sunday, April 16 & 17: Explore, Explore/Explorando y descubriendo Wave Hill.

Sustaining support for Wave Hill is provided by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.

A 28-acre public garden and cultural center overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades, Wave Hill's mission is to celebrate the artistry and legacy of its gardens and landscapes, to preserve its magnificent views, and to explore human connections to the natural world through programs in horticulture, education and the arts.
