Introducing
Andrew Miller Arts, a British born photographer and contemporary artist based in NYC West Village who has introduced an artsy, contemporary solution to the thousands of iPhone photos we take of our little ones. As a father of twin girls, Andrew's inspiration was hundreds of pictures he and his wife took of their girls over the course of a year. With his artist eye, and a keen, contemporary aesthetic, he imagined a visual of one image made up of the thousands of photos. Andrew created for his wife a single image made up of thousands of photos of his twin girls for Mother's Day. His cool, contemporary art attracted the eye of their artsy friends, and a business was born.
We'd love to follow-up with you on potentially featuring Andrew's collages. We look forward to being in touch. You can find an image and press release below.

ANDREW MILLER ARTS
MARRIES FAMILY PORTRAITURE
WITH CONTEMPORARY ARTISTRY
Like many new fathers, Andrew Miller wanted an image of his infant daughters to keep on display in his home. Like many New Yorkers, he wanted a unique, tasteful piece that would work with the sophisticated decor of his West Village apartment. And like many artists, he wanted to make it himself.
But the result of Miller’s efforts was more than a picture of two beautiful babies; it was the inspiration for a successful business. Now, the one-of-a-kind mosaic portraits of Andrew Miller Arts hang in the homes of discerning families throughout the city -- depicting a precious moment with all the complexity of a contemporary work of art.
A fine artist and gallerist who became father to twin girls, Miller wanted to create a unique and stylish Mother’s Day gift for his wife. Calling on his knowledge of contemporary art and professional experience, as well as on new advancements in large-scale imaging, the work he created was truly the sum of its parts: a portrait of his daughters, made up entirely of family photos arranged by color to create a mosaic collage.
Miller’s mosaic portraits are more than a photograph; they’re a showcase for hundreds of individual memories, moments, and points of inspiration. Clients create a personal palette for their photo mosaic, using images that are meaningful to them – images that can range from additional portraits of the subject; to historic family photos; to pictures of places or objects that evoke the emotion behind the project. The possibilities are limitless: a snapshot of a nature-loving child pieced together from a palette of flora, fauna, and environmental wonders; a bridal portrait created using images from her parents’ and grandparents’ wedding days.
In addition to providing a unique way to publicly preserve and display a favorite image, Miller’s mosaic technique sidesteps the usual problems of large-scale photo prints (which have a bold, glossy look that can overwhelm a room or clash with an existing decorating scheme). The dappled look of the resulting works gives each piece a unique, deconstructed aesthetic – equal parts precious memory and contemporary art. Individually commissioned and assembled, the portraits are printed on high-end materials and applied to aluminum or plexiglass, with a gallery-quality finish.
What began as a labor of love has filled a giant gap in the market for large-scale family portraits that can be placed in a modern home as a work of art. Says Miller, “With the mosaic technique, we create a desirable object that’s perfectly at home in a contemporary living space.”
