The ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks
101 Founders Way, Bethlehem, PA 18015
Members of the media are invited to the official dedication of the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. The first two floors of the building officially open Friday, April 15, at 4 p.m. Among the guests who will be in attendance at the April 14 dedication are Pennsylvania First Lady Susan Corbett, Northampton County Executive John Stoffa and Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan.
SteelStacks is a landmark project that is transforming the former home of Bethlehem Steel, once the second largest steel manufacturer in the nation, into the region’s new destination for music, art, festivals and cultural experiences. The former Bethlehem Steel property, currently one of the largest brownfields in the country, is being revitalized through a dynamic public-private partnership involving ArtsQuest, PBS 39, the City of Bethlehem, the Bethlehem Redevelopment Authority and Sands Retail LLC, which donated the land for the project.
The $26 million ArtsQuest Center contemporary performing arts center is the first building to open on the $70 million campus. Once fully operational, SteelStacks will feature more than 1,200 performances and nine festivals annually, attracting more than 750,000 people a year while having an estimated economic impact in the region of $39 million annually.
