Albums Is Tropical and Housse de Racket first releases this summer

Pre-Coachella Party This Friday At Paul & André in Hollywood

Paris based independent label Kitsuné and International Independent label group Cooperative Music have extended their international license deal to include the US & Canada. This will see Cooperative Music releasing Kitsune’s artists and compilations through its new US set-up recently launched in conjunction with New York based Downtown Records.

The first release will be Is Tropical’s debut album Native To on 14th June. Already known for their stunning live shows where, behind their trademark masks, they effortlessly swoop from raw pop anthems to lo-fi dance songs, the young London trio quicks off the campaign buy offering their first single The Greeks through an exclusive download on Kitsune’s site from today.

Following this on August 23rd will be the release of French band Housse de Racket’s second album Alesia on which they worked with French superstar producer Philippe Zdar (Phoenix, The Rapture…). The result : eleven futuristic pop songs, with a wide range of influences from Morricone to Carpenter, from Sparks to Bowie, making them walk in the steps of their elders Air & Phoenix.

Both bands - along with 14 others exciting new acts - will be featured on the 11th Kitsune Maison compilation album "The indie-dance issue" out in the States on May 16th. This will be preceded by the first ever Kitsune party in LA on Thursday 14th April at Paul & Andre.

On the new partnership, Kitsune’s founder Gildas Loaec says:

“For the past 8 years, we've been sharing our passion for music through our now worldwide known Kitsuné Maison compilations and singles. Two years ago we entered a label deal with Cooperative Music in Europe as to start developing artists and release their albums in the best way possible. The success that Two Door Cinema Club are experiencing now with nearly 200 000 sales just in Europe and a Gold record in the Uk is the perfect example that we made the good choice. This is why extending this label deal to the United States and teaming up with Downtown on top was a logical step. I'm really proud to join Downtown record, Josh Deutsch and his great team to developp Kitsuné projects in the States and I feel that the collaboration between Kitsuné / Downtown will create the perfect dynamic for our forthcoming Kitsuné artist album releases Is Tropical and Housse De Racket.”
