The 15th
Annual Sheep is Life Celebration will be held Monday through Saturday, 20 – 25
June 2011, at the Diné College Rodeo Arena on the Tsailé Campus in the Navajo
Nation.
Diné fiber, lifeways, and land management
workshops are offered during the week.
Vendor booths are available.
A sheep camp, fireside storytelling, youth programs, sheep and wool
shows, and other free events take place at the Rodeo Grounds. Friday and Saturday features hands-on
activities for the whole family.
Camping is free; lodging is available in surrounding communities. See the following schedule or go to

The June Celebration features an interactive
exhibit, “Na’ashjé’ii Biyiin: Chant of the Spider. A holistic journey into Diné
fiber arts,” in the Hatathli Museum on Monday through Friday. The
Juried Diné Weaving Show and Sale is open in the Museum Wednesday through
Friday.
DBI is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization
founded in 1991 by Diné shepherds and weavers to restore the Navajo-Churro
sheep and the balance between Diné culture, life, and land. DBI organizes year-round programs to
improve animal husbandry and economic development in the Navajo Nation. To be involved with the Celebration, contact TahNibaa
